Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Lake Forest, CA

We are the only true Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Academy in Lake Forest, California!

First, we offer a beginner program, which unfortunately many schools do not have. Gyms which do not give beginners specialized instruction to learn crucial fundamental details in a welcoming environment have a serious flaw. Second, whether you want to train no-gi (without the kimono) and gi (with a kimono), only schools which train students with the gi offer the highest quality of instruction. At our Jiu-Jitsu academy in Lake Forest, CA we offer both gi and no-gi classes.

Learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Orange County, CA FREE for 30 Days under a 3x World Champion

My name is Marcel Louzado, and if you’re searching for a professional training center to master the art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and submission grappling in Orange County California, then this will be the most imperative message you will ever read in your life. Here is why–

For the past 20 years, I have been producing and training with champions who have gone on to win many national titles and even become World Champions. To name a few, I have spent years coaching 3x World Champion Lucas Leite,  trained several UFC fighters including Mark Munoz, Jake Ellenberger, Jason “Mayhem” Miller, James “The Sandman” Irvin, and served as a coach for Checkmat BJJ, who as a team placed first in the 2008, 2009, 2011, and 2012 World Jiu-Jitsu Championship (no-gi), and in the World Jiu-Jitsu Championship (gi) took third place in the 2009, 2010, and second place in 2011.

There are three crucial reasons why you’ll want to grab a spot in our program:

1.) We have 3 levels of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes, so you can train at your level– beginners get the attention they need from friendly instructors the moment they walk in the door and more advanced students are not help back from reaching their full potential. It is unbelievable how many schools out there have NO curriculum and NO beginners program. Our instructors will work with you one on one to insure the basics are instilled in your foundation.

2.) You’ll get superior training from a world class championship instructor. As a 3x time Jiu-Jitsu World Champion and 4x National Judo Champion of Brazil, I have used my extensive experience to become a world class instructor of not only Jiu-Jitsu World Champions and several UFC fighters, but also average Joes looking to experience the highest quality instruction in the world.

3.) You’ll join a program proven to produce champions, we have developed a program that consistently works guided by a training curriculum that is the secret to our success.

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Gis Guide – 1 of 2

How Do You Clean In addition to Take Care Of My Gi?

Shrinking: A number of Jiu-Jitsu gis these days have already been “pre-shrunk.” What this means is the kimono will not shrink one or more sizes as a result of being washed and dried, but will have a slight amount of shrinkage. A good number of practitioners will adhere to cleaning and drying methods much like those listed below for the first various cleaning cycles and add small amounts of heat to their dry cycle if they want to somewhat shrink their kimono.

Washing: Always wash your gi just after training in cold water. Never ever use hot water. Numerous cleaners are incredibly robust and is, therefore, harmful to the cottons fibers. Woolite is an excellent mild detergent to minimize wear induced by wash cycles. Washing your own gi inside-out is another technique to avert wear stimulated by wash cycles. Always use color-safe detergent for black and colored gis. Use a bleach alternative as opposed to chlorine bleach on white gis. Chlorine bleach will damage the material, making them more brittle. Utilize liquid fabric softener in your wash cycle so that you can prevent your gi from becoming too inflexible. Do not use fabric softener sheets. Without exception clean gis separately from regular clothes for the reason that like towels, the coarse texture will wear on your garments.

Drying: Hang-drying is suggested by the majority of companies as the most effective way to dry your gi. A dry cycle with no heat will do the trick. Both of these practices can take a long time, if you decide to do dry your gi with heat, use a reduced heat setting, remove the gi before absolutely dry, and complete by hang drying. Just remember-when using high temperature, virtually all gis will get smaller to a degree.

Color-Setting: To set the color and minimize color fading of black and colored gis, prior to the initial wash cycle, soak your gi for thirty minutes in three cups of white vinegar mixed in an adequate amount of water to immerse your gi.
